The Secret Unviels: CAT

Here comes me with my first serious blog topic..hope you can bear with it..
A usual late than normal morning at home...i wake up to the mid day sun.While going through the bollywood buzz and the daily schedule of the idiot box I somehow manage to glance at the headline -- "CAT alone can't earn you an IIM seat.." and ma first reaction...Whats' the big deal man?? :o Everyone knows GD and intrview are important too.But the ever curious me..with the tagline mentioning source as IIMB i cudnt avoid scanning it..and on going through it i remained there sitting agaped with the newspaper in hand..The item(the news item) said CAT score contributes only 20% towards final selection to IIMs. Man i ve spent last 2 months planning bout how to mug up all those vocab word lists..and here it says thats all for a mearge 20%,further following the trails..the thing said GD and interview together weighs about 35%. My god is it a calculation mistake....kyunki however bad i am at mathematics but still am sure enough that theres is a complete 45% missing from the above account of weightage.

But nah..this was accounted by a previous academic record tag. They say that guys who have a performed well through out their academic career are ones who excel in IIMS and so they have , after much brooding over, have deviced this system of admission...10% for class XII and 15% dates back to results of claass X.Hey bhagwan koi pehle ye bata to deta...atleast kuch tab bhi padh lete...:( And ya theres some percentile method they use to rate the high school result which is convoluted enough to require complete course to enlighten yourself about it :) anewyz wats done is done..but the newz still gives me time to take care of the remaining 15% which comes from my graduation CPI.That means ab to word list ke sath engineering bhi kayde se karni padegi.

Further there is 5% weightage for job experience and thats so managed taht maximum benefit for a three year work exps. Albeit the CAT exam is given only a fifth of the weightage, Its importance can not be undermined because of a clause which says initial shortlisting of candidates would be based on their CAT score and the above method of admission would apply for those shortlisted name. So all those pple gud in vocabs you too needa start working...start attending classes and complete your assignments and fight for those useless grades in courses.
So get up and get going...CAT has really thrown in a great surprise orrrr if i may say so -- A SHOCK.
